It is the only book recommended by DoTerra officially and sold on their website along with their "oil kit" packages. It will tell you how to use (specifically DoTerra) all of the oils, how to blend them and in what amounts, and it has a section that uses symptoms as references and recommends oils based on specific symptoms. Very handy for those who enjoy DoTerra products and want to know more about how to properly use them.

Organized really well! Easy to use!

I love the organization of this book! You can either look up what specific oils are good for or you can look up an ailment to find out what oils would be good for that particular ailment. For example, if you have Peppermint and don't know what it can be used for, you can look up Peppermint and it will tell you all of its uses. Or, if you have, say, respiratory issues, you can look up Respiratory and find out what oils would help.

Shaina Rudolph has been educating children in urban and suburban settings for 12 years. Working in different socioeconomic environments has allowed her the rare capability to develop close relationships with students from all walks of life. These relationships, in turn, have taught her the importance of reaching one's potential. She instills this belief daily in her students while she works as a reading specialist with children who have learning differences in the greater Los Angeles area. Danielle Royer has had a passion for teaching and working with children from a young age. Inspired by her two youngest brothers, both of whom have learning differences, she has always felt it extremely important that children feel comfortable and empowered in their own skin. Over her career, she has cultivated this message of empowerment to cater to her students' individual needs, no matter their stripes. She continues to spread her message and educate children in Santa Monica, CA, USA.

This is a disappointing example and I would NOT even read that part of the book to my child as it teaches children THE ABSOLUTE

This book tries to provide an important message about differences, and is full of helpful information as well. My concern is that one of the examples of how zebra is different has to do with a fire alarm and his sensory processing challenges. It explains that he was so scared when he heard the alarm that he hid under his desk and screamed WHILE THE CLASS LEFT HIM!!! He was scared until he was FOUND by the firefighters! This is a disappointing example and I would NOT even read that part of the book to my child as it teaches children THE ABSOLUTE WORST THING TO DO in an emergency! It also plants the idea that the child could be left behind by teachers and classmates!! I feel there would be much more effective examples to use that would not instill additional fears in a child, especially in an already anxiety-producing event such as a fire drill. A noisy lunchroom, music class, afternoon announcements over a loudspeaker, etc... would have helped to illustrate the same concept without the added drama of being left behind in an emergency.

Special little Zebra

It is very hard to find mugs or key chains with my Grandson's name, Zane, printed on them. When I saw the book "All My Stripes" and saw the cute little drawing on the cover, I thought about about "Zane the Zebra". Then, as I looked past the picture and saw the little zebra has autism, I truly cried. My grandson, Zane, was just diagnosed with autism. What a comforting little story for our entire family to read to help us on this new journey we share together. It is an enjoyable little story everyone will find helpful and encouraging. The additional information and facts are helpful. Thank you, Shaina and Danielle.

Ausome book!!

This book is awesome! It helped my daughter to be proud of who she is. She was showing everyone her "autism book" and calls her stuffed zebra her autistic zebra now. She never wanted to talk about herror autism before and the few times she did, she expressed that she thought it made her bad. After this book she seemed so proud of all she is including autistic. She has really curly hair and was labeling each of them with a different personality trait after reading it the first time. I would highly recommend this book! Her brothers love it as well and it had helped them to understand her.

About the Author

Lorraine Anderson grew up on a chicken ranch in the Santa Clara Valley of California in the days when it was still known as the Valley of Heart’s Delight, when blossoming orchards stretched as far as the eye could see in springtime. She contains the imprint of the earth’s beauty in her cells. She edited Sisters of the Earth: Women’s Prose and Poetry About Nature (1991, second edition 2003), co-edited At Home on This Earth: Two Centuries of U.S. Women’s Nature Writing (2002), and co-authored Cooking with Sunshine (2006). An adjunct professor at Linn-Benton Community College in Corvallis, Oregon, she holds a BA in English from the University of Utah (1975) and an MA in creation spirituality from Naropa University (2000).

Scott Slovic has been a professor of literature and environment at the University of Nevada, Reno, since 1995, where he directed the Center for Environmental Arts and Humanities from 1995 to 2002, co-founded the Graduate Program in Literature and Environment, and currently directs the Core Writing Program. He has written, edited, or co-edited nineteen books in the field of ecocriticism and environmental literature, including Seeking Awareness in American Nature Writing (1992), What’s Nature Worth? (2004), and Going Away to Think (2008). He served as the founding president of the Association for the Study of Literature and Environment from 1992 to 1995 and since 1995 has edited the journal ISLE: Interdisciplinary Studies in Literature and Environment. A three-time Fulbright Scholar (in Germany, Japan, and China), Scott has lectured and taught in many countries throughout the world.

John P. O’Grady was born in New Jersey and born again in the mountains of the American West. As an undergraduate he studied forestry, believing that this was a chance to dwell in deep groves and sequestered places, but when he realized resource management is not an appropriate practice for one who delights less in the chainsaw than in the standing oak, he moved on to pursue graduate studies in English. For a number of years he served as professor of literature and environmental studies. He has lived in California, Idaho, Montana, and Pennsylvania. Now he’s in the Catskill Mountains of New York, where he continues to write. He is the author of Grave Goods (2001) and Pilgrims to the Wild (1993).

Excellent for teaching

Literature and the Environment: A Reader on Nature and Culture has been an invaluable resource and platform for discussion in my high school literature class that centers around the natural world and man's place in it. The essays, poems, and excerpts avoid groupthink, polarization of issues, and are, for the most part, accessible to students.

Just What I Expected!

This is the book I needed for my class and the only one my University had was the newest edition for a crazy $90. So happy to find this on Amazon and from a very good seller too. The book had some very minor damage on the cover and I was expecting that along with bent pages; for a used book it's exactly what I expected!
