Great Resource!

I read this book as part of my teacher education program and I have found that it has many practical examples that can be easily implemented in the classroom. Great resource for someone who is starting a writing program or restructuring an existing one. Can't wait to use the strategies and lesson plans in my classroom.

Cookie Cutter approach to guided writing

A how-to on beginning guided writing in an elementary classroom. Some information for middle school adaptations, however limited use for upper-middle to high school writing. Other books out there give better secondary writing activities that can be extended for a differentiated classroom.

This book is over rated. I find the lessons time consuming and yet not effective enough because the lessons are being taught even without this book. Nothing new in its content.
