Chad Anders doesn’t know why mousy Cynthia Henley trips all over her tongue when she’s around him. Nor does he understand his undeniable attraction to this good girl. Wild and sexy is his type, like the dream-girl he caught a glimpse of years earlier he’s never forgotten.
Cynthia’s superpower is invisibility, especially with men. It’s better for everyone that way. Besides, she’s got a cat. She’s okay. But when playboy-rancher Chad hires her, she’s got a chance to shine. Professionally, at least. Until she learns of his fascination with a mysterious dream-girl, who was actually nothing more than a shy teenager on an ill-advised dare all those years ago. Cynthia knows she’s no man’s dream-girl and never will be.
But there’s magic at the ball. Princesses glow in the starlight, princes appear out of nowhere, and, sometimes, they look a lot like cowboys…

From the Author
Dear Reader:
It's tough running the world, isn't it? Being the one who always keeps the toilet paper stocked and never has time to get sick? Or maybe your version of "good girl" runs more to the dreamy side, believing the best of others, that your turn will come if you keep playing long enough, stay positive, keep cheering.
By definition, it's "good" to be a "good girl." We're self-reliant, empathetic and very strong. But it can also be bad. We run the risk of being overlooked, overworked, underappreciated, underpaid, ignored, taken for granted, passed over. We keep our hands down in class, for fear of being wrong, even though we're usually right. We hide, rather than be embarrassed.
That, my friends, is not good at all.
The heroine of this story has been a good girl for a long time, without much to show for it. But when a chance to grab that brass ring appears, she reaches out, despite the likelihood of falling on her face, because failure won't kill her and the risk is worth the reward.
This is my hope for you, dear readers: take chances, risk failure, hold your head and your hands up high and know that the world is yours for the taking, whatever that looks like to you.
Hugs,
Roxanne
From the Inside Flap
Gorgeous, wealthy and fun-loving, Cynthia's stepsisters drew men like flies to bug zappers. She wished she could hate them for it, but alas, the worst she could dredge up was irritation. Like you'd feel for an adorable baby who always steals the show, while yanking your hair out by the roots. If that baby also puked on your shoes after parties and did not reliably follow through on promises.
Cynthia wasn't the kind of woman men like Chad went for. They wanted flashy, flirty, quick-witted, smart-mouthed women like her stepsisters, girls who thought on their feet instead of putting them in their mouths.

On the buffet platter of life, Cynthia was processed cheese, flanked by pineapple and passion fruit.

Sometimes the nice girl finishes first
By Kathy Habel
This is a quick read where the nice quiet good girl gets the handsome rich guy in the end. Not really a Cinderella retelling but there are similarities in the story lines and the hared working main character is often called Cinderella by her stepsisters simply because she puts in a lot of hours at work.
While not squeaky clean there isn't tons of sexual content (there is innuendo and talk of sex and skinny dipping but nothing close to a sex scene).
Short enough to be read in one sitting, I enjoyed this story.
Content: 2 or 3 swear words, some innuendo and talk of sex but no sex scene

Sweet, loveable, sexy and funny.
By My Read Journal
I really enjoy reading this short story. Easy to read, fun, addictive and refreshing.
I thought it was really kind for the author to leave a letter for the readers before they start the story. Something meaningful. And, of course, Ms. Roxanne have done a great job writing this short book.
The beginning was a little hard to understand, but just the first two pages.
Cynthia is a really good girl, the boring-good girl kind. With two step-sisters that are the result of mix the evil sisters of Cindirella and the fairy godmother, they are too sweet, but not the worker kind. So Cynthina have to do almost everything in the business they have together. But the problem is that she is too good to complain about it.
But then Chad appears, wanting to work with DMC Solutions in favor of a noble cause, and all that flirting and sexiness is too much for or little Cyn. She wants to keep everything professional. But for how long you think she can fool herself?
And not only herself, because she is hiding a secret from everyone, specially from Chad. And that secret could be the answer to everything or maybe not. It depends on how much you enjoy suprises.
I really like it. It was a really good story, it only took me six hours to finish it. I'm going to miss Cynthia and Chad, and obviously that untamed cat, Fred.
I was provided with a complimentary copy of this book so I could give an honest review.

Loved the modern day Cinderella story...
By GumboMom
I really enjoyed reading this book very much. I enjoyed the modern day version of the Cinderella story and who wouldn't love a cowboy for the prince. This author is new to me but I will look for more of her books.
This story was a sweet and very romantic modern day version of the Cinderella story. Chad had the reputation of being a playboy and Cynthia was the ordinary and plain sister, compared to her stepsisters who "sparkled" and stood out in a crowd. As the story developed and Chad realized what a treasure Cynthia was, I was glad to see the stepsisters take a backseat and they weren't as evil as the original stepsisters were. I really enjoyed the happy ending, too.
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review of the book.
